AUSTRALIAN Industry (Ai) Group says the Queensland Government will see improving the State’s roads as a central infrastructure priority in the next week’s budget.

This comes with the release of a major industry survey detailing infrastructure issues faced by Queensland.

Ai Group claims the survey underlines the need for continued infrastructure investment at all levels of government, especially in State and National Highways and local roads.

It also found 15.4% of respondents identified local roads infrastructure as the dominant issue containing business growth

According to Ai Group, the survey was conducted in late March 2009 and based on 214 Queensland companies primarily in the manufacturing, construction and services-related sectors. In addition there were 337 respondents from New South Wales and Victoria.
