A ROAD maintenance contract worth $2.2 million has been awarded to Queensland’s Ipswich City Council for work on Ipswich roads, Main Roads Minister Craig Wallace has announced.
This contract is for general maintenance activities under the Department of Transport and Main Roads ROAD maintenance Performance Contract. The funding will enable council to complete routine maintenance on various state-controlled roads in the electorates of Blair, Bundamba, Ipswich, Ipswich West, Lockyer and Moggill.
The work will include pothole repairs, minor
asphalt repair work and drain reinstatement, guardrail repair, mowing and litter collection.
Wallace said the work would ensure the ongoing effective operation of
roads infrastructure in the region.
The maintenance work will be undertaken over the next several months, with works due to be completed by mid-2010.
