WA Transport Minister Simon OBrien has inspected works on the new Lancelin to Cervantes road, due for completion later this year. The $112 million second stage of the project, which commenced in 2008, involves the construction of 65 km of new sealed coast road.

FINALISATION of the preferred Multi Modal Transport Corridor MMTC alignment for the Sunshine Coast is a step closer. Queensland Main Roads Minister Craig Wallace has directed his Department of Transport and Main Roads to ensure the further work needed to finalise the preferred alignment is completed by the end of April 2010.

TASMANIA Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources is upgrading Evandale Main Road so that it can operate successfully for the medium term. The project is located approximately 1.2 km south of Breadalbane on the Evandale Main Road and extends from the Launceston Airport to the roundabout at Translink Avenue.

THE construction of a new $2.3 million overtaking lane on South Australias Main North Road, two kilometres north of Tarlee, is nearly complete. DTEI director projects, Lou George said the works, to be completed by the end of February 2010, will create a safer environment for motorists in the area.
